OREGON – Margaret E. Bear, 104, longtime Oregon resident, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in Oregon Living and Rehabilitation Center. Born October 3, 1907 in Stillman Valley, the daughter of Albert and Florence (Conover) Johnson. Married to Charles W. Bear July 3, 1929 in Rockford; he died Sept. 25, 1975. Margaret was a bookkeeper at Bradbury Department Store in Oregon for 23 years, retiring 1960. She then owned and operated “The Bear Den” fishing resort in Orr, MN with her husband until 1974. Survived by nieces, Mary Ellen Sassaman of Oregon and Mary Lou (Floyd) Bahr of Hot Springs Village, AR; and great nephew, David Toufar of Rockford. Also predeceased by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 nieces. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Thursday January 12, 2012 in Stillman Valley Cemetery with Pastor Chris Brauns of the Stillman Valley Congregational Christian Church officiating.
