Huntley – Marilyn L. Sura, age 77 of Huntley, formerly of Oregon died Thursday, January 19, 2012 in her home. She was born on August 24, 1934 in Chicago the daughter of Lawrence and June (Rulau) Peterson. She graduated from Morton High School in Cicero, IL. Marilyn married James Sura at Ascension Lutheran Church in Riverside, IL on November 8, 1958. They resided in the Oregon, IL area for 32 years prior to moving to Huntley where they have resided for the past 11 years. Marilyn was an avid collector and animal lover. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Larry Peterson Jr. She is survived by her husband, James Sura of Huntley; daughters, June (Wayne) Koch of Rockford, IL, Lorraine (Kenneth) Pollock of Crystal Lake, IL, and Linda (Derek) Hancks of Moline, IL; and grandchildren, Matthew, Regina, Philip, Peter, Eve, Emily, Francesca, James, and Carly. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday January 28, 2012 in the Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home, 110 So. 7th St., Oregon, IL 61061. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service. A memorial has been established in her name.
