BYRON – Dennis Ray Harleman, 64, formerly of Byron, passed away Thursday January 19, 2012 in his home in Nixa, MO. Born May 19, 1947 in Rochelle, the son of Virgil “Babe” and Mary “Maxine” (Thompson) Harleman. Denny served as Byron Chief of Police for many years and most recently worked at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, MO. Survivors include his wife Brenda of Nixa, Mo; sons, Ryan Harleman of Nixa, MO and Eric (Trisha) Harleman of Ozark, MO; Brenda’s children, Michael (Raynae) Miller of Leland, NC, Scott (Mary) Miller of Stillman Valley, and Mauria (Wendell) Magnon of Lafayette, LA; 13 grandchildren; brother, Gary (Marilyn) Harleman of Chana; uncle, Bobby (Vicki) Thompson of Reagan, TN; niece, Sarah (Tye) Thuestad of Rochelle; and many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents. Memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday February 4, 2012 in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Byron, preceded by visitation beginning at 9:00am. Pastor Randy Snider of Byron First Baptist Church will officiate. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Paynes Point. Memorials may be directed to the family.
