Eileen Jeanette Ebert, 83, of Leaf River, died Tuesday January 24, 2012 in Kishwaukee Community Hospital, Sycamore. She was born Sept. 29, 1928 in Malta, IL the daughter of Lewis & Sadie Ahlberg Hall. Married to Henry R. Ebert on June 25, 1976 in Oregon; he died in 2010. Eileen attended Northern Illinois Teacher's College and taught school in one-room schools in the Dekalb area. She later worked in the Library at NIU, and at several dress shops in Dekalb. She was a member of the Leaf River Grange and All Saints Lutheran Church in Byron. She enjoyed dancing at the Blue Moon in Elgin and also enjoyed being a "farmer's wife . Survived by sons, Larry (Joni) Tate of Colorado Springs, CO, Randy (Pam) Tate of Sycamore, & Hank (Penny) Ebert, III of Leaf River; grandchildren, Kelly, Trisha, Jeremy, & Joe Tate; step-children, JoAnn D'Agostin of Janesville, Wis., Shelly Williams of Rockton, and Roger Ebert of Roscoe. Also preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Evelyn Schmidt, Violet Johnson, & Betty Sanderson. Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday January 28, 2012 in All Saints Lutheran Church, Byron, with Rev. Scott Schmidt, pastor, officiating. Burial in Byron Cemetery. Visitation at the church on Saturday from 9:30 - -11:00 AM. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Byron is assisting the family with arrangements.
