Kate E. Kruger, 89, of Oregon, died Monday February 13, 2012 in Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital, Dixon. She was born April 21, 1922 in Kreuz, Germany the daughter of William & Martha Zapik Noehring. She married Hans J. Kruger in Oldenburg, Germany on June 29, 1951. They arrived in Oregon in January of 1957, sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Oregon. Kate was a homemaker, enjoyed knitting, and also altered clothing for many years for the National Clothing House and Town and Country Fashions. She was a member of the Oregon United Methodist Church, Naomi Circle, and the Rebekah Lodge. Kate was a Den Mother with Cub Scout Pack #81 and also served on committees with Boy Scout Troop #81. Survivors include her husband, Hans; children, Karin Frey of Sterling, Susan (Bill) Baker of Carol Stream, IL, and Peter (Jeanette) Kruger of Fairfield, OH; grandchildren, Abby, Eric, Marie, Renee, Will, & Jon; great grandchildren, Trinity, Leela, & Landon; and sister, Gisela Schuenemann of Mountain Home, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Horst & Hans. Funeral services will be held Friday Feb. 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Oregon United Methodist Church with Pastor George Woosnam, officiating. Visitation will be in the church Friday from 12:30 to 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
