Harry A. Mogge, 85, of Oregon, died Wednesday November 14, 2012 in Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital, Dixon. Born November 26, 1926 in Chicago the son of Harry A. & Alma (Otto) Mogge, Sr. He married Hilda A. Hodel on February 26, 1949 in Chicago; she died in 2007. Harry lived in Oregon since 1996 and was a resident of Arlington Heights from 1963 to 1988. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon where he served as a Eucharistic minister and an usher. He was also a past president of the Oregon Lions Club and received the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. Harry enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and playing card games. Survivors include son, Robert (Karen) Mogge of Colorado Springs, CO; daughters: Barbara Mason of Colorado Springs, CO and Nancy (David) Ayers of Palatine; daughter-in-law, Donna Mogge of Oregon; grandchildren, Jim and Nancy Mogge, Anna (Brendan) Whelan, Shannon and Meghan Mason, Abi, Karla and Nellie Mogge, and Troy and Sam Ayers; great grandchildren, Zachery & Aiden Whelan; nieces, nephews and many loving friends. He was also preceded in death by his son, Thomas Mogge. Christian Funeral Mass will be held Monday Nov. 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon, with Rev. Richard Kramer, former pastor, as celebrant. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Oregon. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00-5:00 PM in the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th St., Oregon. Memorials may be directed to the Oregon Lions Club or St. Mary Catholic Church.
