BYRON – David E. Miller, 61, of Byron died suddenly Tuesday February 12, 2013 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born October 8, 1951 in Peoria, IL the son of Dale W. and Mary (Strickland) Miller. Married to Carleen Erickson July 19, 1975 in Beach Park, IL. Dave graduated from Elmwood (IL) Community High School in 1970 and had lived in Byron since 1978. He was employed by Exelon in Byron for 30 years, retiring in 2007 and was currently a contractor for Zion Solutions. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Byron, the National Rifle Association and a life member of the North America Hunt Club. Dave enjoyed shooting, hunting and motorcycle riding. Survived by his wife Carleen of Byron; sons, Dan Miller of Forreston and Michael Miller of Byron; daughter, Kate Miller of Byron; brothers, Jimmy Miller of Goodfield, IL, Jerry (Ruth) Miller of Mascoutah, IL and Rick Miller of Cumming, Georgia; and sister, Rosemary (Tony) Harris of Bartonville, IL. Preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday February 16 in The First Baptist Church of Byron preceded by visitation beginning at 1:00pm. Pastor Randy Snider, of the church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Byron, assisted the family with arrangements.
