Mt. Morris – Carolyn Grace Branning, age 83 of Pinecrest Manor in Mt. Morris was called home on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 in KSB Hospital in Dixon. She was born May 26, 1929 in Oregon, IL the daughter of Jacob and Wilhemina (Bulthaus) Jacobs. Carolyn graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1947. After graduation she was a personal secretary at National Lock and Company of Rockford, and then at Kable News in Mt. Morris until August of 1955. Carolyn married Melvin Branning on August 20, 1955 at the Ebenezer Reformed Church near Oregon. Leaving to cherish many wonderful memories are her sons; Steven (Annette), Kelvin (Kathy) both of Rockford, Paul of Oregon, and daughter , Debra Zuniga also of Oregon, grandchildren; Nicholas, Matthew, Brett, Brittney, Kaitlyn, Sarah, and Jordan, Great grandchildren; Blake, Graham, Alana, Owen, and Hailey, and 1 sister Ruth Shelly of Oregon. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, her parents, brothers John and Ben Jacobs, sister Alice Lindvall and grandson Jacob Zuniga. The family would like to thank the staff at Pinecrest Manor, Dixon Davita, and KSB Hospital for their care, also thank you to Pastor Brion Brooks for his visits and prayers, and a special Thank You to nephew Jim Lindvall for his weekly visits and card games. Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at the Ebenezer Reformed Church near Oregon with a visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Pinecrest Manor in Mt. Morris.
