I knew Ron primarily through the annual Strat-O-Matic (board game) football tournament that he would organize and host in Bloomington, IL each September.  Ron's hospitality and his generosity were tremendous.  He made so many great friends through that tournament, and I know there are a lot of sad regular attendees tonight upon hearing of Ron's death.  I am glad I had the honor of both knowing him and counting him as a friend.  I promise that stories of Ron will live on forever among those of us who played against him.  He was truly a great character--one that we all loved dearly.

We grieve but always will remember "Oregon Ron," a great man who brought us together for 2 decades at the Ron Brammer Memorial Tournament, named after our longtime friend and that Strat-O-Matic football/hockey/baseball event's co-founder, "Mad Dog." Long may they roll.

Wow..just shocked. He was a good friend who was a great cook. I will miss his wit and sense of humor. Rest well my friend.

i am shocked and profoundly saddened to hear of Ron’s passing. I have considered him a close friend of mine for over 35 years.  He was always gracious and kind to me. I will miss his sense of humor, his quick wit and his play on words.  I will miss our conversations where we would over analyze  absolutely everything!  You had an impact on my life Ron, and I am forever grateful.

    Tally Ho, my friend ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. I retired from the USSSA almost 4 years ago so I've lost touch with some of those umpires, teams and friends I'd made over the years. I could always count on Ron and I always considered him a friend and a pretty good umpire too. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

Roxanne and I will never forget the great times we shared with Ron at the Strat-O-Matic tournaments over the last two decades.  We will always greatly appreciate all that he gave of himself to make those events the spectacular successes that they always were.  Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to his family at this time of loss.  Thank you for sharing him with all of us.
