Joyce Wills

December 17, 1952 — November 20, 2020

Stillman Valley, IL

Heaven was gifted a truly special angel on November 20, 2020. Joyce Antonia (Kane) Wills was born on December 17, 1952 in Rockford, IL. The daughter of Donald and Eleanor Kane, Joyce grew up in Davis Junction, IL. She graduated from Stillman Valley and attended college at Northern Illinois University where she earned a master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology. She later received a second master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Joyce married her high school sweetheart, Ken Wills, and they spent over 50 years together.  They had three daughters Aimee (JR), Julie, and Lesly and later were blessed with four grandchildren. She loved her family more than anything. Joyce enjoyed her profession as a speech and language pathologist for the Stillman Valley School District.  She loved helping all of her students and made a lasting impression on many of them. Joyce retired in 2014 when she was promoted to grandma and babysitter. Joyce loved spending time with all four of her grandchildren and was loved dearly by them.  Joyce was very talented and her family believed she could do anything. Her faith was strong and she was a kind and loving person often giving to others. She was known for sharing many of her wonderful talents including her famous chocolate chip cookies and banana bread, she was an excellent cook and extraordinary self taught seamstress.  Joyce was the most amazing and loving mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt, friend, and role model.  She had a positive impact on so many people.  She is predeceased by her father Donald and grandparents. Joyce will be deeply missed by her survivors: mother Eleanor, husband Ken, three daughters Aimee (JR), Julie, and Lesly, grandchildren Nolan, Savannah, Kyle, and Kenneth, brother Mike (Barb), many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, and friends.  Joyce was an inspiration to her family on how to live life, love unconditionally and give to others. She had a glow about her that demonstrated her beauty inside and out, and a smile and presence that could light up a room. If you would like to share any stories or memories of Joyce her family would like to hear them. Please mail them to the Wills Family at 6581 Shewmon Dr, Stillman Valley, IL 61084 or email them to jawills15@yahoo.com.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private service will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Byron with the Rev.
