Phyllis Johannah Hillers, age 93, passed away on Wednesday February 24, 2021 at her home. She was born at home in Davis Junction on May 9, 1927 the daughter of Joseph and Johannah (Beer) Stucker. She graduated from East High School Class of 1945. Phyllis married Christopher “Leslie” Hillers on April 8, 1949; he preceded her in death on May 8, 2020. After Leslie’s retirement; she enjoyed traveling with him especially to Hawaii and Alaska. She was a woman of faith and attended Kishwaukee Community Church for many years. She enjoyed journalism and worked for The Observer for over 30 years and was known for her Kishwaukee News column in the Tempo newspaper. She had a green thumb and was an avid gardener growing both flowers and vegetables. She also liked to decorate cakes. Above all, Phyllis was very family oriented and loved being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She would always make sure to attend all of their events with her husband to cheer them on or show support. She always looked forward to the weekly Saturday morning breakfasts with her family. She is survived by sons, Dale (Wendy) Hillers of Winnebago, Donn (Barb) Hillers of Rockford, and Doug Hillers of Stillman Valley; siblings, Arlene Adamson of Monroe Center, Milton (Connie) Stucker of Freeport, FL, and Keith Stucker of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Tim (Melissa) Hillers of Portage, Wi, Tara Hillers of Winnebago, Blair (James) Lemmon of Avon Lake, OH, Zachary Hillers of Rockford, Geoffrey Hillers of Shelton, WA, and  Garrett (Kayla) Hillers of Acton, MA; great grandsons, Ben and Gage; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Kenneth and Emest.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic private family services will be with a public celebration of life to be held at a later time. Burial will be at Kishwaukee Cemetery. Memorials are established for Kishwaukee Community Church or UW Ophthalmology Dept.
