Alva C. Richards Jr.

MT. MORRIS, IL ~ Alva C. Richards Jr. age 88, died suddenly on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at OSF St. Kathrine’s Hospital of Dixon, IL. He was born May 29, 1937, in Oregon, IL, the son of Alva C. Sr. & Genevieve M. (Artz) Richards. Alva loved being outdoors, farming, fishing and spending time at the Oregon Park East of Oregon, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 of his brothers. He is survived and missed dearly by his loving sister Mary Lou Richards; brother Ralph Richards; and many nieces and nephews.

Private services honoring Alva’s life are going to take place at Allure of Pinecrest Nursing home with Pastor Rodney Caldwell providing prayers. Alva will be laid to rest privately, near his parents, at Grand Detour Cemetery, Grand Detour, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Allure of Pinecrest Nursing home, Mt. Morris, IL, or made be directed to the family to help cover final expenses.
