CHANA, IL ~ Benjamin “Ben” August McCasky-Feazel, age 30, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Rochelle Community Hospital. He was born August 31, 1994, in Dixon, IL, the son of Brenda McCasky & Lester Scott Feazel. He attended and graduated from Oregon School District before moving on to attend SIU Carbondale where he earned his master’s degree. Ben enjoyed many simple things in life, activities that took him outdoors were his favorite. Things like fishing, target shooting (but never hunting), hiking, or just playing in the dirt. A group of his friends would often meet at Rock Cut State Park with outdoor RC Cars and hike while driving their cars around. He loved music, always making sure to have his phone playing his favorite music in his truck. He deeply loved to travel the world with his mom, visiting places like Costa Rica, Australia, and his favorite - Ireland. Above all else Ben was known for his big heart, always helping out those in need. He would volunteer often for different events at the Chana United Methodist Church, especially the Chicken Noodle-Lasagna Dinner. He even started a small library as a part of his Eagle Scouts group. He is preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents, Gail & Lillian McCasky, and paternal grandparents Nancy & Franklin Feazel. Ben is survived and missed dearly by his loving mother Brenda; aunts and uncles, Rhonda & Neal Feazel; Greg McCasky; several cousins, and many dear friends and neighbors.
At this time Ben will be cremated as per his wishes. He was laid to rest at Washington Grove Cemetery of Ashton, IL following a simple graveside service. A recording of Ben's service, conducted by Pastor Dana Cox, is provided below. Memorials are established in his name and may be directed to the Granny Rose Animal Shelter of Dixon, IL.
