Bernard E. Malli

Bernard E. Malli, age 80, passed away at the OSF St. Anthony's Medical Center of Rockford, IL on Sunday, July 19, 2026. He was born June 21, 1946 in Decorah, IL the son of Rene & Wilhelmina (Zeien) Malli. Bernard worked at Woods Brothers of Oregon, IL for more than 30 years before he decided to retire and work on the family farm in Crestco, IA, which he enjoyed immensely. He would often say working on the farm was like walking with his brothers. Bernard was a hard working guy, spending a lot of time working on the farm or taking care of his lawns, he would often travel for his job at Woods Brothers, it took him all over the country. Although he was a hardworker, he had a great sense of humor, always having a joke ready, and always ready to make someone smile when they needed it.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon Malli, 2 brothers and a sister. He is survived and missed dearly by his loving children Roxanne (Malli) Byers of Mt. Morris, IL; Renee Malli of Oregon, IL; Bernie A. Malli of Austin, TX; special friend Julie Steffa; sisters Kathryn Dwyer of Chana, IL; Margaret (Richard) Dick of Lodi, WI; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A visitation has been scheduled for Monday, July 27, 2026 between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home of 110 S. 7th St, Oregon, IL, 61061. Rosary Prays will follow taking place at 8:00pm. A funeral service honoring Bernard’s life will be held the following day, Tuesday, July 28, 2026 beginning at 10:00am at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Homes of 110 S. 7th St, Oregon, IL, 61061 with Father Bernard Sehr presiding. Immediately following the funeral services, Bernard will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery of Oregon, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family at this time.
