Carole Bolin, age 90, passed away at home on Friday, October 25, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born in Dekalb on December 8, 1933 the daughter of Charles “C.P.” and Helen (Mitchell) Richardson. After high school, she married the love of her life, Joseph Bolin Jr. on January 18, 1953. They built a beautiful and loving life together for the next 58 years until he preceded her in death on February 17, 2011. Carole and Joseph moved to the Byron in 1961 after purchasing the Ben Franklin Store which they owned and operated for over 35 years. Carole was a devoted and involved member at The United Church of Byron. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and making hats for those in need. More than anything, she enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Joseph III, and siblings, Kenneth, Lloyd, and Pearl. She is survived and missed by her sons, Christopher (Debbie) Bolin of Escondido, CA and Heath Bolin of Pueblo, CO; brother, Daryl (Berniece) Richardson of Rochelle; grandchildren, Nicholas (Dawn) Bolin, Chelsea (Todd) Watson, Andy Bolin, and Tanner Bolin; and great grandson, Nicholas Bolin Jr, Paislee Watson and C.J. Watson. A memorial service celebrating Carole’s well lived life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the United Church of Byron with Pastor Tyler Spellious of the church officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until time of service. Memorials are established in her name.
