Cheryel L. Book, 74. of Byron, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in Generations at Neighbors, Byron. Born July 26, 1947 in Dixon, the daughter of Bennie, Jr. and Eleanor Jean (Parven) Sanford. Married to Harold M. Book July 26, 2000 in Oregon. Cheryel was a graduate of Polo High School and was employed 41 years at Kable News Company in Mt. Morris. She was a member of EUB Church in Polo and attended Leaf River Baptist Church. Cheryel enjoyed tractor shows and loved her husband and her dogs. Survived by her husband, Harold M. Book of Byron; step-children: Howard Martin (Tammy) Book of Pocahontas, AR, Connie Mae (David) Fox of Tampico, Steven William (Sue) Book of Forreston and Carol Rae (Lloyd) Bellows of Oregon; 11 step-grandchildren; 30 step-great grandchildren; 5 step-great great grandchildren; and nephew, Christopher Sanford. Predeceased by her parents and brother, Stanley Sanford.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Monday December 20 in Leaf River Baptist Church preceded by a visitation beginning at 9:30am. Pastor Billy Hardy, of the church, will officiate. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
