Clarence M. Morris, age 83, passed away at St. Margaret Hospital in Spring Valley, IL on Sunday November 29, 2020. He was born on July 11, 1937 the son of Charles and Viola (Engelkes) Morris. He graduated from Oregon High School where he was an outstanding track athlete. He then joined the U.S. Army where he continued running track while in Germany. He married Linda Mon on March 27, 1973. Clarence worked various jobs including driving school bus, carpentry, a diecast operator for Quality Metal, and farming. He loved the farm and all of his animals and going to the Chana Sale Barn. He was an avid sports fan and liked to follow many different sports; but especially enjoyed watching the Cubs, Bears, and Bulls. Clarence loved to eat good food and go mushroom hunting in his spare time. But, the thing that always came first in his life was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Mt. Morris; children, Brian Morris, Dawn (Michael) Owens of Rockford, Randy (Tanya) Morris of Mt. Morris, Becky Morris of Mt. Morris, Steve (Sara) Morris of Mt. Morris, and Christine Morris of Mt. Morris; his aunt, Martha Schneider of Byron; 18 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren Eric, Scott, and Nathaniel, and numerous aunts and uncles. A celebration of life will be held on July 31st at the River Valley Complex in Leaf River beginning with a service at 1 PM followed by a time of remembrance and fellowship until 4 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are established in his name.
