Darrel K. White

Darrel Keith White, age 88, died Monday, August 11, 2025 at Shepherd Premier Senior Living in Oregon, IL. He was born August 13, 1936 in Bloomington, IL the son of John and Margaret (Lindley) White. He graduated from Sycamore High School. Darrel was a farmer at heart. He married Alice McGuire on June 15, 1957. They were married for 65 years prior to her passing in 2022. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rochelle. Darrel enjoyed camping at Camp Joy in Whitewater, Wisconsin. While there he especially enjoyed riding the zip line. He also liked to do word search puzzles and read his Bible. Darrel was predeceased by his parents, his wife Alice, his daughter Nancy White, his infant son Darrel Keith White, Jr, and 6 of his siblings. He is survived by his daughter Cindy (Greg) Vant of Leaf River, IL; his son Dan (Sherrie) White of Owatonna, MN; his sister Beverly Cain of Missouri; his grandchildren Amy White of Oregon, IL; Ashley (Justin) Szymczak of Neenah, WI; Bethany Steuerwald of Mt. Morris, IL; Michala White of Frisco, TX; and Christy (Joshua) Bunger of Newberry Springs, CA; step grandchildren: Stephanie (Brandi) Gilbertson of Mariana, FL; Tervor Vant of Jacksonville, IL; Megan Vant of Jacksonville, IL; and Ryan Vant of Jacksonville, IL; great grandson Elliot; step great grandchildren: Ashley, Jack, Wyatt, Lilly, Kiera, Odin, Avery, and Dahlia. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th Street in Oregon, IL with Pastor Joshua Bunger officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A memorial fund is established in Darrel’s name and may be directed to his family.
