OREGON, IL ~ Denis L. Bielick, age 94, passed away peacefully, at his Oregon, IL, home on Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was born October 3, 1931, in Chicago, IL, the son of Lucius & Josephine (Sommerfield) Bielick. He graduated in the late 1940s before being drafted to the United States Army where he served his country during the Korean War and part of the Cold War. On August 20, 1955, in Chicago, IL, he married Joan C. Mitchell; they spent the next 53 years building a life together before her passing in 2008. After getting out of the Army he worked for many years as a Tool and Die Engineer, eventually retiring from Teletype Corp. He worked his way up from an intern all the way to a Supervisor there. After his retirement, Denis let his love of flying radio-controlled planes guide him into the next great adventure of his life, starting High Point Products, a company that created propeller balancers to allow R/C racing planes to fly faster. He loved to work with his hands, being very mechanically inclined he would always have a project going, whether that be around the house or with his competitive flying, for which he would compete nationally. After his retirement, Denis & Joan moved to the Oregon, IL area where they fell in love with living on the Rock River and having an amazing view of the Blackhawk statue. He loved to be with his family, getting together, having cookouts and playing Horseshoes.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Joan, and 3 brothers Ralph Bielick, Donald Bielick, Robert Bielick and son-in-law Russ Stewart.

He is survived and missed dearly by his loving daughters Denise Stewart; Diane (Brad) Howder; Lisa (Jack) Gerdevich; Janet (Kevin) McGinn; sons Michael (Ann) Bielick; John Bielick; grandchildren John Gerdevich; Nicole Gerdevich; Daniel Bielick; Joseph Bielick; Stephen Bielick; Wayne Stewart; Monica (Dave) Lynam; great-grandchildren Nora & Jordan; several Nieces, Nephews, step-grandchildren, friends, and special Neighbors.
