Diane Bush

Byron, IL – Diane M. Bush, age 67, died suddenly on Monday, August 9, 2021 at her home in Byron.  She was born February 1, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Arlene (Hejkal) Zakrocky. Diane graduated from Morton West High School in Berwyn, Illinois class of 1972.  She married Stanley Bush on Dec. 29, 1979 at St. Pius Catholic Church in Stickney, Illinois. She worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Oak Forest Hospital and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree.  She and her husband Stanley moved to Byron, Illinois 38 years ago where they raised their family.  She was very active in her children’s and grandkids’ activities including serving as a den mother for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, chaperoning numerous school field trips, being a room mother, attending all musical concerts, and played a huge part in ensuring all goals and achievements were met in her children’s lives.  She was her children’s biggest supporter and #1 fan.  She not only was a mother to her own children, but “Mama Bush” to so many, in which she has left an everlasting impact on.  She was active in book clubs and bunco and it seemed like she made friends anywhere she went.  Her laughter was contagious and she could light up a room.  Diane was a stranger to few and a friend to all and will be dearly missed.  She was predeceased by her parents.  She is survived by her husband Stanley, her 3 children; Stanley (Jenell) Bush, Joseph Bush, and Laura Bush, 2 grandchildren Kohen and Kaden Bush all of Byron, her sister Elaine (Peter) Witkowski of Marseilles, IL and their children Alex and Alexis, and many special friends including Diane Magne of Dixon, IL.  A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 506 W. Merchant Street in Byron, IL followed by a 7:00 pm prayer service with Pastor Randy Snider officiating.  A memorial fund is established in Diane’s name for the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
