Davis Junction, IL – Eleanor Anne Kane, age 92, of Davis Junction, IL passed peacefully on Oct. 9, 2021 at her home with loved ones at her side.  She was born April 1, 1929 to Ricardo and Antonia (Medina) Navarro in Davis Junction.  She was deeply loved by her whole family and will be greatly missed by all.  Eleanor graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1947.  She went on to work at Nylint Toy Corporation in Rockford for 31 years retiring in 1994.  She then went to work at Eswood Grade School in Lindenwood in the school cafeteria eventually retiring again.  She enjoyed the children and the friends she made there.  She was always active, walking and riding her bike well into her 80’s.  All of Davis Junction new her as the lady in the hat that was always walking.  She was devoted to our Lord and to her church.  She loved her children and her grandchildren with all her heart and created many loving memories for them all.  She was always present at all the family events including graduations, birthdays, weddings, and especially the new babies in the family.  She also enjoyed baking homemade cakes for many years for her family and friends.  She is survived by her son Michael (Barbara) Kane of Davis Junction, IL, grandchildren; Crystal Kane (Matt Blum) of Rockford, IL, Michael (Kirsten) Kane of Byron, IL, Karena Kane (Kevin Kemnetz) of Rockford, IL, Aimee (JR) McBride of Milwaukee, WI, Julie Wills of Milwaukee, WI, Lesly Wills of Rockford, IL, great grandchildren; Nolan McBride, Savannah Stier, Kyle Stier all of Milwaukee, WI, Kashlyn Kane of Byron, IL, Kenneth Wills of Rockford, IL, son-in-law Kenneth Wills of Stillman Valley, IL, siblings; Ricardo (Tong) Navarro of California, Angie Cash of Rockford, IL, Antonia Crosser of Rockford, IL Robert (JoAnn) Navarro of Joliet, IL, Nancy Hogan of Rockford, IL, and uncle Vincent Medina of Rockford, IL, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Kane, Dec. 19, 1960, daughter Joyce Wills, Nov. 20, 2020, her parents, and brother Frank Navarro.   A special thank you to the wonderful “family” of care givers who made mom’s last years and then days, so comfortable and full of love and life that she needed.  You are so appreciated more than you know.  Christian funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church 220 East 2nd Street in Byron, IL with the Monsignor Michael Tierney officiating.   Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at the church.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Byron.  In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is established in Eleanor’s name for the Northern Illinois Hospice.  Visit www.farrellhollandgale.com to leave a condolence or memory of Eleanor.
