Ernst K. Rupprecht

STILLMAN VALLEY, IL ~ Ernst Karl Rupprecht, age 97, passed away at his home in Stillman Valley, IL, on Sunday, June 28, 2026. He was born in Ellingen, Germany on April 11, 1929 the son of Hans & Anna (Hemmeter) Rupprecht. Ernst attended schools in Germany and worked in Nurnberg as a cabinet maker before coming to the United States in 1962. He met Britta Williams and the two married on September 28, 1963 before spending the next 65 years together building a life and family. Ernst had a deep love of working with his hands, especially working as a Master Cabinet maker for many years at Dahlgren & Johnson. He also deeply loved nature and caring for creatures, whether they were his Sheep or the wildlife around his home. Ernst and his wife worked hard to grow a garden, caring for the plants and watching them grow.

The family would like to thank the staff at UW Health Swedish American Hospital and Heartland Hospice for their exceptional care and support.

He is survived and missed dearly by his loving wife Britta Rupprecht; sons Paul Rupprecht (Krista) & Mark Rupprecht; brother Georg Rupprecht, nephews Kurt Rupprecht (Dody); Mike Rieger (Tammy); and niece Gabi Koch (Heinz). Ernst is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Willy Rupprecht; Hans Rupprecht; sisters Lotte Leupold; and Helga Rieger.

No services are scheduled at this time as per his family’s wishes. Ernst will be laid to rest at Stillman Valley Cemetery of Stillman Valley, IL along with his mother-in-law & her uncle where he will later be joined by his beloved wife.
