Fred W. McCloud, age 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 30, 2025 while at CGH Medical center after a courageous cancer battle. He was born in Oceanside, CA on June 19, 1945 to Harold and Ruby (Chambers) McCloud. He married Linda Holland on May 25, 1962 and they built a beautiful life together over the next 63 years. He proudly served his country in Vietnam as a Military Police officer. Fred believed in the value of working hard. He retired from Northwestern Steel and Wire, as a human resource manager. After retirement, he became a real estate broker with Arrow Realty and found great joy with Neon Rayz Tanning Salon, a business he owned and operated for many years. More than anything, he loved and was proud of his family. He always showed up for them and never missed an event. Fred was the husband, parent, grandparent, brother, and friend that you could count on for unwavering support and caring advice. His love, kindness, and good jokes will be missed. In the words of Fred, "Don't take no wooden nickels". Fred was a man with a strong faith in God and was founding member of Harvest Time Bible Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, William, Arthur "Buddy", Doris, Nadine, Billy, Bob, Marilyn, and Sharon Kay. He is survived and missed by his loving wife, Linda McCloud of Rock Falls; daughters, Dawn (Brian) Carbaugh and Krista (Leo) McCloud-Hernandez of Rock Falls; siblings, Delores Sage and Ronnie McCloud; granddaughters, Bri Carbaugh of Sterling, Paige (Jon) Holland of Byron, Alli (Mike) Arnold of Sterling, and Kora Magill of Rock Falls; and great grandchildren, Kaenyn Walker, Brohnx Magill, Caster Holland, Reagan Arnold, Zoey Arnold, and Madison Arnold. A funeral service celebrating his well lived life will be held at Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 5, 2025 with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials are designated for The Wounded Warrior Project or Harvest Time Bible Church.
