Byron – Genevieve Grace Pearson, age 93, died Saturday, January 29,2022 at Generations at Neighbor’s in Byron. She was born February 14, 1928 near Leaf River, IL the daughter of Milferd and Luetta (Miller) Kappenman. She attended the Stone School one room school and graduated from Leaf River High School in 1945. Genevieve married Douglas G. Pearson on April 7, 1951 in Adeline, IL. She was a hard worker and had worked for Kable Printing for 3 years, Kable News for 5 years, the IGA Deli for over 5 years in Byron, the Neighbor’s Nursing Home, the Dress Shop in Byron, and Pinecrest Manor Dietary Dept. retiring in 2007. She was a past member of the Adeline Zion Evangelical Church and currently was a member of the Cornerstone Family Church in Byron, IL. Genevieve enjoyed her weekly hair appointments and BANTER with the Girls at Eclips Hair Salon. She loved making deserts for her family and friends including any church function or birthday party. Most of all Genevieve loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Douglas, her brother Robert, and sister Delores. She is survived by her sons Jeffrey Pearson(Lori Nickelsen) of Leaf River, and Jon (Deb) Pearson of Mt. Morris, Grandchildren Dave (Sheryl) Crowell of Rockford, Jon (Bonnie Magallon) Crowell of Cortland, IL, Mark (Laurie) Crowell of Andover, Minnesota, Sarah (Jonathan) Hopman of Stillman Valley, IL, Kristin (Bryan) Johnson of Davis Junction, IL, Brent (Jess) Pearson of Stillman Valley, IL, and Sean Pearson, great grandchildren Jacob, Alex, Tyler, Abby, Charley, Sydney, Bennett, Soren, and Huxten, special nieces Lynette Cibert and Brenda Ricke. Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Cornerstone Family Church in Byron, IL with Pastor Randy Snider officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 9:30 – 11:00 am. Burial will be at the Adeline Cemetery. A memorial fund is established in Genevieve’s name for the Rockford Rescue Mission or the Cornerstone Family Church.
