Jeffrey Thorp

Oregon – Jeffrey Lynn Thorp, age 74, died Thursday, January 14, 2021 at KSB Hospital in Dixon, Illinois surrounded by his loving family.  He was born July 8, 1946 in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin the son to Benjemin and Jane (Foltz) Thorp.  He worked for many years at Kysor Westran in Byron, IL.  He married Kathy Gates on Feb. 20, 1987 in Oregon, IL. Jeffrey loved to fish and enjoyed camping and being with his family. He was an avid NASCAR Fan and especially followed Dale Earnhardt, Sr.  He also enjoyed attending the many activities his family was involved in. He was predeceased by his parents.  Jeffery is survived by his loving wife Kathy of Oregon, son Don (Penny) Hyle of Rockford, grandson Steven Hyle, brothers Frank and Paul Thorp, sisters; Jane Trefethen and Cathy Thiesen, 2 stepsons; Jason (Jodi) Gates and Eric (Megan) Gates all of Machesney Park, IL.  A celebration of Jeffrey’s life will be held at a later date.  A memorial fund is established in his name and may be directed to his family.  Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home in Stillman Valley is assisting the family.
