Davis Junction

Keith L. Hall, age 69, passed away on June 13, 2023 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. He was born on January 20, 1954 in Rochelle the son of Delbert and Joan (Upstone) Hall. Keith graduated from Stillman Valley High School the Class of 1972. While there he met his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Rose Rainwater and they married on November 6, 1976. They remained committed to each other and were best friends who enjoyed doing everything together. He loved sports especially baseball and was scouted by professional teams while in high school. Some of his favorite athletes include Bobby Knight and Pete Rose who he even received a personalized message from that meant a lot to him. Keith played football for Rock Valley College in 1973 and his team was inducted into the Rock Valley Hall of Fame on January 26, 2019. He continued playing sports for as long as he could; never losing his competitive attitude through the years. If he wasn’t playing, he was coaching even if it meant coaching from the sidelines. He was a coach with compassion for his players and believed that every kid deserved to have playing time. He worked as an industrial truck driver for Ferguson Thrall until his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his yard and playing drums. He was an animal lover, especially their dog, Annie Oakley. Keith lost his brother, Delbert Hall in the Vietnam War. This had a huge impact on his life and inspired him to enlist to honor both his fallen brother and his country. But because his mother had already lost one son; he was not able to enlist and even though that was difficult he trusted in God to help him create a new plan for his life.  Keith was a man of faith and he and Rose were active members of Monroe Center Community Church. The most important thing in his life was his family and he was a proud father and grandfather. He will be remembered for his compassion and kindness that made him friends everywhere he went. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, in-laws, Oren and Elizabeth Rainwater, and brother-in-law, Al Klapp. He is survived and greatly missed by his wife, Rose Hall of Davis Junction; children, Brent (Jennifer) Hall of Oregon, Shannon (Kory) Lindquist of Stillman Valley, and Brock (Nicole) Hall of West Chicago; siblings, Diana Klapp of Stillman Valley, Theresa (Larry) Anderson of Ashton, Cathy (Greg) Stoddard of Byron, and Chris Hall of Stillman Valley; grandchildren, Griffin, Hayden, Tate, Tripp, Dane, Carter, and Madden, and special friends, Marty Larson, Eugene Setterstrom, Ken Pearson, and the Ainley family. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Stillman Valley with Pastor Bob Mellon and Pastor Aaron Ainley officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Monroe Center Cemetery. Memorials are established for Serenity Hospice and Home. The family would like to thank the staff at Serenity and OSF Cancer Center for their dedicated and exceptional care of Keith.
