Linda Lou Summers

OREGON, IL - Linda Lou Summers, 73, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Serenity Hospice & Home of Oregon, IL with her loving family surrounding her. She was born October 26, 1952, at the Warmolts Clinic in Oregon, IL, the daughter of John V. (Sr.) & Helen Marie (Sherfield) Ehmen. Linda lived her whole life in the Oregon area, attending Oregon schools and eventually graduating Oregon High School in 1970. Linda was a hard worker throughout her life, she would never miss a day of work. When she wasn’t working she enjoyed traveling to tourist spots and to Lake Geneva. Linda was very much a homebody, spending her days at home gardening and tending to her flowers. She loved to watch fireworks on the 4th of July that her son would set off for her when he could. Linda always loved holidays and special occasions, never forgetting to send a card for someone’s birthday. Her family and friends truly held a special place in her heart. She was a loving partner, mother, sister, aunt and daughter. She is preceded in death by her parents John Sr. and Helen. Linda is survived and missed dearly by her loving son Todd Aschenbrenner; partner Brian L. Nelson; brother John V. Jr. (Della) Ehmen; Nieces Renee (Brian) Foss; Rhonda (Tim) King; special friend Corrie (Jon) Klein; Corrie & Jon’s children Jace & Kyla; and several cousins.

Linda will be laid to rest near her parents, grandparents, and many other family members at Ebenezer Cemetery of Oregon, IL, following a private family graveside service. Linda’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Serenity Hospice & Home of Oregon, IL for the wonderful care and compassion they showed to Linda and her family.
