Linda L. Swanson

Linda L. Swanson, age 84, passed away on March 27, 2026 at UW Swedish American in Rockford. She was born on April 29. 1941 in Pecatonica the daughter of John and Louise (Fingle) Peters. Linda married the love of her life, Raymond Swanson on July 20, 1957 and they built a beautiful life together until his passing in January of 2019. Linda believed in the value of working hard and worked for Barber Coleman and Sundstrand for over 20 years. She was a woman of faith with a strong belief in God. Linda liked collecting antiques, beanie babies, and black mountain glass. Linda loved dogs especially pugs and Boston terriers. But, more than anything Linda loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Russell Peters, Ronnie Peters, Sally Whitlow. And Elvida Quinto ; grandson, Justin ; great grandson Gregory ; and great granddaughter, Kylee. She is survived and missed by her children, Mark (Trudy) Swanson of Byron, Melinda (Jim) Wiles of Leaf River, and Annette (Kelly) Riffle of Byron; sister-in-law, Betty Peters of Byron ; 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren ; and 1 great great grandchildren. A funeral service celebrating her well lived life will be held at Leaf River Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 11 :00 AM with visitation beginning at 10 :00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at North Grove Christian Cemetery. After the services a luncheon will be held at Leaf River Baptist Church.
