Michael L. Personette

Michael L. Personette, age 72, died Monday, March 4, 2024 at his home in Byron. He was born October 24,1951 in Rochelle, Illinois, the son to Donald and Aileen (Hostetter) Personette. Mike graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1969 and from Madison Business College in 1973. He married Lori Kelser on Oct. 18, 1975 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oregon, IL. Mike was employed at Fitzgerald Equipment Company in Rockford for his entire career, before retiring in 2021. He enjoyed driving, working on, and collecting sports cars, including his 1988 Monte Carlo and several Corvettes over the years. He also enjoyed drag racing at the Byron Drag Strip. In his earlier years, Michael loved to golf, hunt, and fish. Michael enjoyed spending time with his wife Lori, and sons Matthew and Marc at their place on Lake Koshkonong in Wisconsin. He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Aileen Personette and his brother Stephen Personette. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Lori, sons Matthew and Marc Personette all of Byron, IL, nephew Stephen A. (Laura) Personette of Iowa, and numerous cousins. No services are scheduled at this time. A memorial fund is established in Michael Personette’s name and may be directed to his family.
