Nancy G. Bendis was born in Worth, Il. the daughter of David and Nancy (McBride) Karstrand on December 12, 1963. After graduating from UIC college she married her husband Edward on October 17, 1987. They lived and raised their four children in Oregon, Il : Jillian (Adam) Pflugshaupt, David, Brianna and Michael. Nancy was the beloved and cherished Nana to her six grandchildren: Izzy, Cooper, AJ, Aria, Eddie and Willow. Nancy dedicated her life to her family. She was filled with love, joy, kindness and an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. Nancy enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading and journaling on her back porch. She loved kayaking with friends on the Rock River and sailing on Paw Paw Lake in Michigan at her parent's lake house. Nancy enjoyed entertaining family and friends with good food and laughter. Nancy loved attending parties with her extended family and cherished her church family at Evangelical Free Church of Mt. Morris. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family and friends. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband Ed, four children, six grandchildren, mother Nancy Karstrand, sisters Sue Karstrand and Maureen (Larry) Coleman and brothers Steve and Robert Karstrand. Nancy has many sister and brother in-laws, aunt, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father Dave Karstrand, and brother Davy Karstrand.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home of 110 S. 7th St, Oregon, IL, 61061 between the hours of 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM. A funeral service honoring Nancy's life will take place the following day, Monday, December 22, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM at the Evangelical Free Church of 102 S. Seminary Ave, Mt. Morris, IL, 61054 with Pastor Bruce McKenna presiding. Prior to the services at the church a visitation will take place between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Immediately following the services at the church, Nancy will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery of Oregon, IL.
