Nancy Louise Printz

Nancy L. Printz, age 67, passed away peacefully at Serenity Hospice and Home of Oregon, IL, in the early morning hours of Friday, April 17, 2026. She was born March 29, 1959, in Mobridge, SD, the daughter of Lester & Vermona (Hirsch) Ochsner. Her father was a farmer in the Glad Valley area for several years where she attended the Athboy and Isabel Schools. After her father sold their farm he moved the family to New Underwood, SD where she attended and later graduated from New Underwood High School in 1977. A year later, on February 4, 1978, she married James “Jim” W. Printz in his grandmother’s living room in New Underwood, SD. The two spent the next 48 years building a family and traveling for Jim’s different Navel Stations. Their family spent time in South Carolina, Hawaii, and Idaho before Jim got a job at the Byron Generating Station and they settled in the area. Nancy loved traveling, hummingbirds, and spending time with her granddaughters. Her true passion, however, was for Bowling, she even worked briefly for Oregon and Mt. Morris Bowling Alleys.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Lester & Vermona and her brother Jack Ochsner. She is survived and missed dearly by her loving husband Jim of Lanark, IL; son Jason (Loni) Printz of Huntsville, AL; daughter Lisa Printz of Antigo, WI; grandchildren Keaton Printz and Sadie Printz; brothers Daryl Ochsner of Larmie, WY; Dennis (Lori) Ochsner of Henderson, NV; sisters Junella (Ronnie) Alley of Isabell, SD; Karla (Emery) Spiegelberg of Larmie, WY; Rhonda (Mike) Wanke of Thornton, CO; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation services are being handled by Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home of Oregon, IL, and services are to be scheduled at a later time, please check back as information becomes available. Nancy will be laid to rest at Black Hills National Cemetery of Sturges, SD. Memorials are established in her name and may be directed to the local Girl Scout Troop.
