Patricia Mae Lingbeck, age 89, passed away at KSB Hospital in Dixon on July 2, 2022. She was born on April 12, 1933 in Adeline, IL the daughter of Olive and Shelby Cain, Sr. She graduated from Leaf River High School class of 1950. She married Elmer Edward Lingbeck on July 29, 1951. Patricia liked helping on the family farm in the Byron and Leaf River area. She lived for her family and was a selfless mother; always putting her children first. She enjoyed spending time with friends. She also enjoyed playing cards and belonged to the neighborhood card club for 40 years. Patricia was a member of the Leaf River Grange, Ogle County Pomona Grange, Illinois State Grange, Ogle County Farm Bureau, and the Seward Congregational Church. She was a fabulous hostess who always made sure to have homecooked meals ready and would insist you stay for dinner. She was an amazing cook and was famous for her delicious chocolate pies. She also loved visits from her grand dog Oreo who would come visit her during the day before traveling back home. She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Nickie) Lingbeck of Leaf River, Donna (Scott) Moffitt of Raeford, NC, and Diane (Michael) Hemmersbach of Leaf River; sister, Vaida Yelinek of Leaf River; and grandchildren, Kyle (Fiancé Taylor Metz) Hemmersbach, Bobby Moffitt, Ashlyn Moffitt, Alyse Moffitt, Eli Moffitt, and Kaden Lingbeck. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Shelby Cain, Jr. and Virginia Maxwell, and an infant daughter, Kimberly Lingbeck. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 7, 2022 at 5:00 PM at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 506 W. Merchant St., Byron with Pastor Randy Snider officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:30 - 5:00 PM. Graveside service will be on Friday morning at 10:00 AM at Lightsville Cemetery, Leaf River. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lightsville Cemetery Association.
