Rodney Rapp Sr.

Rodney R. Rapp Sr., age 74, lifelong Byron resident, passed away on Sunday January 10th, 2021. Born February 2, 1946, the son of Russell and Carol (Nelson) Rapp. Survived by sons; Rod Rap Jr., Bob Rapp, and Tom Rapp; daughter, Jessica Rapp; sisters, Nancy Hillman and Mary Ann Swanson; and great grandchildren Draven Collazo and Fallon Marcoux. He is predeceased by his parents, and brothers Tom, Steve, and Mike Rapp; sister Pat Scadden and granddaughter Chelsea Rapp. Rod attended and graduated from Byron Schools. He was proudly employed with the Local 150 as a heavy equipment operator serving 40 years and retiring in 2005. Rod was a dedicated father, mentor, and friend who enjoyed the outdoors, farming, gardening, fixing things, and drag racing. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM at 12 Mile Grove Cemetery in Pecatonica on Friday January 15, 2021. Memorials are established in his name.
