Ryker Joseph Hoppe, age 8, passed away peacefully at home, held close by his family on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
Ryker was born August 29, 2018 in Rockford, Illinois, to Christopher and Emily Hoppe. Ryker was a funny, kind, caring, and wonderfully silly boy who brought joy wherever he went. From a very young age, he had a personality that was impossible to forget. He could be shy and quiet, but when he was comfortable, he could just as easily become the life of the party. He had a way of making people laugh, and his presence made the people around him happier simply because he was there.
Ryker loved wrestling with his brother, and playing all kinds of sports. He enjoyed swimming with his sister, He especially loved spending time riding his Tesla quad and playing Roblox. He could often be found turning the basement into a baseball or soccer field. Ryker’s playful spirit and competitive heart brought so much laughter into our everyday lives.
Ryker loved his family deeply. He adored his brother, Hayden, and followed him everywhere, always wanting to be right alongside him. He loved teasing his little sister, Norah, but underneath the teasing was a tenderness that was unmistakable. He was so sweet to her and loved being her big brother. Ryker was a true momma’s boy, and he loved being his daddy’s helper. He had a special way of making his parents feel needed and loved, and being his mom and dad was one of the greatest gifts of their lives. He will forever be Hayden’s little brother, Norah’s big brother, Mom’s boy, Dad’s helper, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, and, above all, a beloved son.
His family will miss his laugh, his silliness, his curiosity, his love, and all the little things that made him Ryker. They will miss watching him grow, but they will never stop being grateful that they got to love him.
Ryker was here. He was loved. He changed us for the better. And he will forever be a part of who we are.
