Samuel "Sam" J. Logan

Samuel “Sam” J. Logan, age 69, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Rochelle Hospital. He was born in Oregon, IL on February 27, 1953 the son of Ira and Dorothy (Beach) Logan. He married Lea Irvin on November 23, 1971 in Polo and they had 51 wonderful years together. Sam was a jack of all trades who liked to farm and stay busy. He could typically be found tinkering with something or servicing his trucks for Logan Transport; the trucking company he owned and operated. Sam was someone who could be counted on. The most important thing in his life was his grandchildren. He was incredibly proud of each of his grandkids and loved them unconditionally. He would always make sure to find ways to connect with them whether it was over farming video games or taking them on vacations to Kentucky. He never missed an opportunity to make sure they felt important and loved. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Elmer and Leonard. He is survived and missed by his wife, Lea of Oregon; children, Darrell (Michelle) Logan of Mt. Morris, Shannon (James) Coffman of Polo, and Rob Logan of Oregon; siblings, Millie (Wayne) Meador of Chana and Gene Logan of Dixon; step-mother, Wilma Logan of Oregon; grandchildren, Matthew Coffman, Carson Coffman, Dustin (Dezarae) Logan, Brook Logan, Emily Logan, and Ricky Logan; step grandchildren, Gary Young, Sara Young, and Ashley Young; great grandchild, Kopelyn; step great grandchildren, Avery, Madden, Raelynn, Beau, Stetson, Bryleigh, and Peighton; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials are established in his name.
