Velma "Bonnie" A. Hendrickson

OREGON, IL - Velma “Bonnie” A. Hendrickson passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2026 at the Serenity Hospice & Home of Oregon, IL.

Known as Bonnie to most people, she was born to Charles & Elsie (Kinn) Kearns in Oregon, IL. She graduated from Oregon High School with the class of 1954.

She married Harlan B. Hendrickson on March 22, 1957 and they spent the next 49 years together before his death on April 16, 2006.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harlan, brother Donald Kearns, sisters Norma Miller and Floretta Meissner and great-grandson Jimmy Schafer.

She is survived by sons Steven (Deborah) Hendrickson of LaGrange, IL; Michael (Cindy) Hendrickson of Oregon, IL; Edward Hendrickson of Oregon, IL; Thomas (Cheryl) Hendrickson of Poplar Grove, IL; grandchildren, who she was so proud of and always anxious to hear about their accomplishments and plans, Matthew (Jamie); Tyler (Claire); Bryan; Rachel (Hayley); Dane (Heidi); Leslie; Jim (Cara); Tom; Christos (Sarah); Jordan (Michael); Collin (Michelle); and great-grandchildren Emily and Austin.

Bonnie wished to be cremated and buried with family at the Lighthouse Cemetery of Oregon, IL, all services will be held privately.
