Verva Kay Thomas, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Oregon Living and Rehab Center. She was born December 7, 1941, in Dixon,Illinois, the daughter of Oscar T. and Esther M. (Davis) Steder. Verva graduated from Mount Morris High School. She married Larry Noirfalise, Sr and Richard Thomas, both preceded her in death. Verva was a care giver for Tri-County Opportunities for many years. She was a former member of the Oregon Kiwanis Club, The Red Hat Club, and served as an Ogle County Election Judge. She was predeceased by her parents Oscar and Esther Steder, husbands Larry Noirfalise, Sr, Richard Thomas, infant sister Sheryl Steder, and grandson Jarod Lehrke. She is survived by her daughter Katharine “Kate” (Jeffery) Lehrke of Oregon, Illinois, her son Larry (Corina) Noirfalise, Jr. of Queen Creek, Arizona; grandchildren Joshua Lehrke of Oregon, Illinois; Kyla (Joshua) Adams of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; Ashlie (Justin) Perro of Queen Creek, Arizona;and Arriane Rice of Queen Creek, Arizona; great grandchildren: Madysen, Jasey, Emmalyn, Aaliyah, Ava, Dexter and Jaspyr; many cousins and many friends, and a special friend of Verva’s through the years, Dave Trapp. A special, heartfelt thank you to Mary Welty, Verva’s Hospice nurse Val Rowlandand, and her doctor, Dr. John Plescia from Serenity House Hospice for giving her peace in her final days. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
