December 7, 1953 — January 15, 2026

Oregon, WI

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Shephard Holland on January 15, 2026, after a short illness. He was born on December 7, 1953, in Rockford, Ill., to Paul Holland Jr. and Elizabeth Shephard Holland.

Bill graduated from Oregon High School in Illinois in 1972 and went on to study at the University of Illinois, achieving a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in agricultural economics. He furthered his education obtaining a Juris Doctorate from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Ill.

After practicing law for several years, he was given the opportunity to work for the Land Information Board of the State of Wisconsin. A pioneer in GIS (geographical informational services), he launched his first business, GeoAnalytics, Inc. He established RedGiant Analytics in 2010. He also engaged in data analysis and business consulting.

Bill was passionate about motorcycles, live music, riding bicycles and photography. He lived life to the fullest, enjoying family and friends.

He was a devout Catholic, and with his customary gusto, he threw himself into the church by volunteering his services. He became a Knight of Columbus, later serving a term as Grand Knight. He was focused on bringing members into the fold.

Bill was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Catherine Holland. He is survived by his former wife and special friend, Victoria Holland; and by his siblings, Elizabeth (Gary Hollinger) Pontnack, Randy (Sheila) Holland, Mary (Neal) Patterson, Joseph (Julie) Holland and Laura (Mike) Davenport. He had a plethora of nephews and nieces spanning several generations.

Bill embodied his belief in love, kindness, grace and mercy. He exemplified these tenets in the business community, in his faith and with all the people he loved.

He inspired and mentored many to achieve goals both professionally and personally. He truly was an inspirational individual who will be greatly missed.
