Cindy L. Druien

July 13, 1965 — November 11, 2020

Oregon

Cindy Druien, age 55,of Oregon,  passed away suddenly Wednesday, November 11, 2020 after a short illness. Cindy was born on July 13, 1965 to Richard and Pat (Ware) Snapp. She was her daddy’s girl, and took her job as big sister very seriously to her 3 younger siblings, Belinda, Matthew, and Jason. Cindy graduated Oregon High School in 1983, and in December of that same year she married the love of her life, John Druien. Cindy was never one to sit idle. John and Cindy not only both had jobs in town, but also ran their farm where they raised pigs, cows, and their son, Austin. Cindy would come home from a full day of work at the nursing home, make a home cooked dinner for her family, and then go out and do whatever chores needed to be done. Cindy would bale hay, bottle feed calves and piglets, fix electric fence, or whatever else needed to be done. Cindy loved animals, and it didn’t matter what kind of animal it was, either. Austin was the luckiest kid around because Cindy let him keep all kinds of pets. Not only did they have dogs and cats, both house cats and barn cats, but turkeys, ducks, a ferret named Gunther, and even a tarantula. Cindy even once rescued a baby owl that had fallen from its nest. Cindy might have been busy on the farm, but felt that her life’s calling was to not only be a caretaker of animals, but of people too. She attended Highland Community College and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She spent the majority of her career at Neighbors Nursing Home in Byron. Her patients and her coworkers were a second family to her Above all, Cindy loved her family. If she counted you as family you were blessed indeed. She always had time for family, and everyone in her family knew that they could count on Cindy ,even if it was just for a listening ear. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and aunt, but her greatest joy was being “Oma” to her grandson, Warren. She was predeceased by her father, Richard “Dick” Snapp and brother Matthew Snapp. Cindy is survived by her husband John of Oregon, son Austin (Grace) and grandson Warren of Holcomb. Cindy was also survived by her mother, Pat Snapp of Honeycreek, sister Belinda Slaton- Snapp of Conyers GA., and brother Jason (Shawna) Snapp of Honeycreek. She also leaves behind many brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much. Due to Covid-19 , services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your local animal shelter or humane society in Cindy's name.
