Douglas Strawser

Douglas E. Strawser, age 75, died Monday, November 7, 2022 at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon.  He was born August 8, 1947 in Dixon, IL the son of Albert F. and Marie J. (Melchert) Strawser.  He graduated from Oregon High School in 1965 and attended the University of Illinois.  Doug was a farmer at heart.  He was known as a historian of Oliver tractors of which he had a large collection.  He loved to fish along the Rock River.  Doug was a member of the Ogle County Farm Bureau.  He was predeceased by his parents and grandparents.  He is survived by his special friend Kathy Hoffman of Mt. Morris and her children; Inga (Jim) Fulton-Stebbins of Polo, IL, Shawn Hoffman of Dixon, and Tina Hoffman of Mt. Morris, sister Diana (Lynn) Elliott of Oregon, 2 nieces Rachelle Swope and Jessica Diehl.  Funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th Street in Oregon, IL with the Rev. Michael Hoffman pastor of the Oregon Church of God officiating.  Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5-7 pm at the Funeral home in Oregon.  Burial will be in the Lanark City Cemetery.  A memorial fund is established in Doug’s name, and memorials may be given to a fund of the donor’s choice .
