Eveleen Hintz

Gurnee, IL – Eveleen C. Hintz, age 98, formerly of Chana, IL died Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at her home in Gurnee surrounded by her loving family.  She was born July 19, 1923 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Thomas and Helen (Ries) Knapik .  She married Willis D. Hintz on July 21, 1944 in Norfolk, VA.  Eveleen was a longtime member of the Chana United Methodist Church where she was involved in the United Methodist Women’s Club.  Mostly, she loved being a mother and grandmother caring about her children and grandchildren until her very last breath.  Her faith was the foundation of her being, and she worked very hard every day to live a righteous life, and one that would make the Lord proud.  But, she also enjoyed gardening, jewelry making, tole painting, sewing, fishing, camping, and ceramics. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Willis, son Donald Lawrence Hintz, and her 3 sisters.  She is survived by her 5 daughters Dianne Daley of Rochelle, IL, Judy (Gary) Boyd of Trempealeau, WI, Jeanette (Bert) Adams of Waynesburg, KY, Susan (Dave) Janusz of Fox Lake, IL, Sandra (Robert) Kofoed of Gurnee, IL, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.  Funeral service will be held 11:30 am on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the Chana United Methodist Church in Chana, IL with the Pastor David Rogula officiating.  Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.  Burial will be at the Daysville Cemetery on Daysville Road. A memorial fund is established for the Chana United Methodist Church.  Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home in Oregon, IL is assisting the family.
