Henry “Hank” Coy, age 75, of Oregon, passed away on March 19, 2022. Born on July 5th, 1946 in Oregon, Henry was the youngest of three children born to Henry and Stella (Zmuda) Coy. He graduated Oregon High School class of 1964. After graduation, Henry was employed in a family business owned by his parents. In 1969 Henry married Lind Nicholson of Milledgeville and both worked in the family business and were later divorced. Henry also worked a Police Patrolman for the City of Oregon for a short time but left to continue the family business. Upon the retirement of his parents, Henry began working a Territorial Sales manager for FMC Corp. in their Outdoor Power Equipment Division, based in Menomonee Falls, WI. Following that he opened his own business in Chana selling and servicing lawn and garden power equipment, until moving the business back to Oregon. Henry later closed the business to pursue other interests; obtaining his State of Illinois Registered Private Detective PERC card and was a past member of the American Federation of Police, Alumni member of the University of Illinois Police Training Institute and longtime member of the NRA. He was employed for several years as a 911 dispatcher for the Mt. Morris Police Dept. before accepting the position of Chief Animal Control Warden for Ogle County where he remained until his retirement. During his later years due to medical mobility issues, he was confined to a wheelchair; but it did not hamper his ability to drive and he was always happy, laughing, and in good spirits. During his lifetime he enjoyed traveling. He also enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, collecting coins, antiques, Oregon & Ogle County memorabilia, police patches and firearms. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother John. He is survived by his sister, Veronica “Sue” (Thomas “Skip”) Eytalis and nieces and nephews, Michele (Doug) Drogemuller, Charles Eytalis, Julie (Wade) Scheckla, Mark (Marisa) Eytalis, and Jeremy (Natalie) Coy; and sister-in-law, Rena Coy. He leaves behind many friends he made throughout his lifetime including special friends Michael Cullen, Cindy Yang, and Michelle He. Memorials are established for Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon, IL. As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or services will be held.
