He graduated from Oak Park River Forrest High School in 1945 where he met his beloved wife of 70 years, Nancy Marshall. Jim was passionate about playing pool on Tuesday and Friday with his friends, and spent Wednesday playing dominoes with the Ladies of Dominoes. He loved his John Deere tractor, his GMC car, and watching Judge Judy. But more than anything Jim loved his life, making sure to appreciate every day.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, his parents, and brothers Darryl and Adrian.  He is survived and missed by his children, Jacquelyn McKay of Wheaton, Jim (Shirley) Skarda, Jr. of Canadian Lakes, MI, Julie (Ellen Byrne) Skarda of Maple Park, JoEllen (Dave) Vanderpool of Lake Helen, FL, Janette (Chris Burzio) Skarda of Hood River, OR, Jeffrey (Helene) Skarda of Indialantic, FL, and Jack (Deidre) Skarda of West Melbourne, FL; sister, Joyce (Jim) Dannehy of Canyon Lake, TX; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with one on the way.
