Lou Ann Millard

April 18, 1956 — May 22, 2021

Byron

Lou Ann Millard, 65, went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2021. Lou Ann was born on April 18, 1956 to Emery and Elaine (Devenney) Wedig, and was raised just north of Davis Junction. Lou Ann married Jeff Gocken in June of 1976; he was called home to the Lord in October 1979. Lou Ann then married Chris Millard on May 9, 1981. They had three children; Gabriel (Kate) of Geneva, Noah (Emily) of Rochelle, and Emily (Josh) Gerdes of Byron. She was a proud grandma to her grandkids Bea, Mack, and Mae; Clara, Teddy, Florence, and Wells; Cooper and Collins.

Lou Ann lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed watching beautiful blessings and she thanks God for all of them, baking cakes and owning her own commercial embroidery business. She lived for her family! You could always find her spending time at the lake with the grandkids. Her philosophy was Faith, Family, Friends. She was blessed with some amazing friends who were truly family. She graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1974 and was so very blessed with her Potluck Sisters.

Lou Ann is preceded in death by her husband Jeff Gocken, father Emery Wedig, mother-in-law Harriet Gocken, mother and father-in-law Dolores and Ron Millard.

Lou Ann is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren; mother Elaine Wedig, sisters, Leah Cruse, Linda (Ron) Wegner, and Laurie (Charlie) Bigelow; father-in-law, Sam Gocken; sisters-in-law, Wendee (Jim) Guth and Candace (Michael) Quinn; and many special nieces, nephews, and amazing godchildren.

Sincere thanks to the staff at Serenity Hospice in Oregon for their support through the last weeks in her life. Her family could not have done it without all of them. It was Lou Ann's wish that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Serenity Hospice and Home.

A walk through visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday May 27, 2021 at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Byron.
