Robert A. Pfab, age 79, passed away at home surrounded by family on July 28, 2022. He was born on May 3, 1943 in Oglesby, IL the son of Adolf and Mary (Chlebus) Pfab. He married the love of his life Doris Elder on April 20, 1991. Robert spent his life farming which he loved; even spending spare time driving around Ogle County looking at all the crops and was a true fan of John Deere Tractors. The highlight of his summer was their annual 4th of July party on the farm. He enjoyed travelling and would go west with his wife on motorcycle trips travelling as far as California on the motorcycle. One time after driving the motorcycle to Seattle they rented a car and drove the Alaskan Highway. He enjoyed escaping the Illinois winters by spending time at his Florida home with Doris and loved his visits with all his family and friends. He was a great cook especially on the grill. Robert was an animal lover and avid reader; especially of John Grisham who was his favorite author. He also liked to volunteer with the Lion’s Club for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents and sons Kevin Pfab and Todd Pfab. He is survived and missed by his loving wife, Doris of Davis Junction; children, James (Chris) Rush of Davis Junction and Randy (Penny) Rush of Rockford; daughter-in-law, Angie Neal of Stillman Valley; grandchildren, Jacob (Nicole Scullion) Pfab and Ashley (Shawn) Stark; and is loved and missed by his Indiana family, many friends, and his farming buddies. A memorial service and celebration of Robert’s well lived life will be held at 12:00 PM on August 6, 2022 at Pfab Farm; 7090 North Junction Rd, Davis Junction, IL 61020 with a luncheon and time of fellowship to follow. The memorial service will be officiated by Chad Hostetler. Memorials are established for OSF Hospice, Cause for Paws, or Stillman Valley Fire Department.
