Harold E. Alderks, 78, lifelong Stillman Valley and Kings area resident, died Saturday, January 31, 2015 in his home. Born at home in White Rock Township, Ogle County the son of Luke and Annabelle (Ludwig) Alderks. He was a graduate of Stillman Valley High School in 1954 and attended Pella College in Iowa for a year. Married to Eileen Frantz October 19, 1956 in Monroe Center. Harold worked 19 years at Amerock Corp. then 21 years at Empire Berol as operations manager and spent one year at New Jersey Grumbacher Plant. He was a member of Elim Reformed Church, Kings where he sang for the church and many weddings and funerals. Harold enjoyed bowling, golf and coaching baseball. He was on the Stillman Valley Village Board for 8 years, served as Mayor 1973-1977 and went on as President of the Village Planning Committee 1977-1995. Survived by his wife Eileen of Stillman Valley; daughters, Jean Lawrence of Davis Junction and Barbara (John) Stryzak of Glendale Heights; sons Larry (Luann) Alderks of Minnesota and Wayne (Nancy) Alderks of Monroe Center; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Marion (Bob) Wentz of Machesney Park; many nieces and nephews; and special cousin Marvin Alderks. Preceded in death by his parents. In keeping with Harold's wishes, private family funeral services will be held. Burial in White Rock Cemetery, Kings. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Harold's name to Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon
