Iola J. Geyer, 84, lifelong Oregon resident, died Friday May 2, 2014 in KSB Hospital, Dixon. Born August 30, 1929 in Oregon, the daughter of Richard and Ida (Herbert) Black. Married to Dale Geyer May 4, 1950 in Rockford and would have celebrated 64 years of marriage this year; he died March 6, 2012. Iola was a graduate of Oregon High School and worked at Oregon Manufacturing Company for many years prior to retirement. She was a member of Lighthouse United Methodist Church. Iola loved to crochet, her cat Gracie as well as any other stray cat, and enjoying any meal of the day at Spring Valley Restaurant in Oregon. Survived by very special nieces, Lori (Eric) Wirstrom and Julie (Steve) Swan; nieces and nephews: Martha Picchi,Greg Peterson, Julie Scott, Terry (Cheryl) Picchi, Robin (Tim) Kuhn and Kim (Mark) Davis; and many great nieces and great nephews. Also predeceased by her parents, nephew Kevin Geyer, brother Charles Black, and sister Belva Black. Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday May 6 in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon preceded by a visitation beginning at 2:00pm. Pastor Gregg Downs of Pinecreek Christian Church will officiate. Burial in Lighthouse Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Granny Rose Animal Shelter in Dixon.
