Jimmie D. Ruth, 80, of Oregon, died Monday, December 30, 2013 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born September 27, 1933 in Unionville, MO the son of Ronald and Beulah (Childers) Ruth. Married to Delores Saldana July 13, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas; she died April 24, 2006. He was a US Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. Jimmie lived in Oregon over 30 years, moving from Bettendorf, Iowa and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He was an electrical engineer, employed at the Byron Nuclear Station over 20 years, retiring in 1992. Survived by: his son, Anthony Ruth of Rockford; daughters, Stephanie (Samuel) Watson of Wilmington, NC, Lisa (Darrell) Reber of Byron and Ronda (Matthew) Stephan of Kalispell, MT; grandchildren, Adam Reber, Nathan Watson, Bailey Watson, Lindsey Stephan and Jordan Stephan. Predeceased by his wife, parents and step-mother, Gladys Ruth. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am Friday, January 3, 2014 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon preceded by visitation beginning at 10:00am in the church. Rev. Joseph Naill will be the celebrant. Burial in Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, MO, Saturday, January 4 at 1:00pm. Memorials may be made in Jimmie's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
